At Farmhand we understand that to reap a crop, first you have to sow the seeds. We work steadily towards realising our ideas.

On this page we feature projects that are fully realised conceptually, and in the early stages of their journey towards production.

The Cameleer is a tale of shared hardship and cross-cultural romance, set in the Australian outback of the late 1800's.

The story was inspired by a 2011 exhibition at the Melbourne Immigration Museum, Australia's Muslim Cameleers, and is the result of extensive research into the crucial role of Pashtun cameleers in Australia's early history.

A first draft has been completed, and a second draft is currently being written with development assistance from Film Victoria.

NOTE: The Cameleer is currently optioned by a US based producer.

Chris Crucifix is a rambunctious action comedy telling the story of an unlikely friendship and an unusual Crusade.

Laden with wit and humour the story moves at pace as eleven year old Danny Shaw learns to embrace the motto - "Feel the fear and do it anyway."

Chris Crucifix could be described as a blend of The Professional and The Fisher King, (with a very Australian inflection), and just a hint of Don Quixote

A second draft has been completed.

Corrosive Zone (Graphic Novel)

Corrosive Zone is a contemporary sci-fi epic set in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Strongly character driven, with an expansive, open ended narrative Corrosive Zone was selected for development in the 2014 Platform X Multiplatform Development Lab, run jointly by the Australian Writers Guild (AWG) and StoryCode

Corrosive Zone could be described as a mutant blend of the Mass Effect computer game series, The Walking Dead tv series and graphic novels, and the dystopian sci-fi novel and film, Children of Men

Corrosive Zone has been selected for the AWG's Pathways Program, and is featured as an Interactive Project.
